Recent Events

Here are some of the recent FSSG activities we've had. Sound like fun? Next time join us!

Jan 4-6: Sugarbush ski trip rocks with 40 people. We had a blast as usual and the hot tub was most appreciated after a hard day on the slopes.

Monday, Nov 5 - The Happy Hour at the Irish Village was a huge success. This was a sendoff for the hockey league. The place was packed and everyone had a good time. We'll miss hockey, but the players will still be around to party with the FSSG!

Saturday, Sept 22 - King Richard's Faire outing! Huzzah! We had perfect weather and plenty of yards of beer to make our day at the fair a huge success. Even though our brave knight was the first to die in the jousting tournament, a good time was had by all.

Tuesday, July 24 - Net6 Professional Networking/Schmoozefest at Joe's American Bar & Grill. Networking, schmoozing and making new friends!

Sunday, July 15 - FSSG players participated in a charity soccer game at Daly Field in Brighton. Over $1500 was raised for Dan Hamel and his family, a player who was paralyzed and is now in a wheelchair. It was a great day with many games played, all for a good cause. Dan thanks everyone who came out to support him and his family!

Saturday, July 14 - "Mad Max" at the Wang Center. Fun people, a great Italian dinner before the show, a good, cheesy flick and drinks after the show.

Saturday, June 30 - Charity soccer tournament to benefit Allston-Brighton Youth Soccer. Even though it was 90 degrees outside and we played three full one-hour back-to-back games with only four subs, we managed to claim 4th place overall. Well done team!!

Wed, May 9 - Got laid off? You should have partied with us at the Pink Slip party at The Rattlesnake Bar & Grill in Boston. We networked, griped about dot-coms, etc and it was FREE! I think some people good good job leads too!

Saturday, April 28 - Dancing at Pollyestas on Friend Street in Boston. We all rocked to music from the 70s, 80s and 90s! You missed a great time!

Friday, April 27 - Spring Bash with Jack Morris and the Catunes at The Green Briar in Brighton. They rocked the house and we raised a lot of money for the "Focus on Families" charity. Focus on Families is a nonprofit organization which provides pediatric respite and hospice support to terminally ill children and their families. Keep up the good work!

March 23-25 - Ski trip to Loon Mountain in NH! NH got tons of snow and the skiing was incredible! Most of us have never skied in knee-deep powder, so anything that is softer than loose granular ice is a novel experience! We had a blast on the slopes, in the jacuzzi and on the tubing track as well. Evidence of the good time we had are in the Photo Album page. Plan ahead so you can join us again next winter.

Thursday, February 15 - Happy Hour at the Irish Village in Brighton! Lots of fun and good beer!

Jan 5-7, 2001 - Dynamite ski trip to Sugarbush, VT with a whopping 63 people taking over the mountain! Check out the pictures of our trip! We enjoyed fresh powder, skiing, sledding, hot tubs and parties all weekend long. Some of us never completely recovered!

Thursday, December 15, 2000 - Happy Hour at the Irish Village in Brighton! Great turnout, tons of fun.

Upcoming Events

Saturday, August 24: FSSG Day at Six Flags!
Join us for a fun day at the amusement park on the wild rides, play games, get soaked on the flume and have a great time. We will carpool there and expect to be at the park from 12-6pm. Cost is $24 (instead of $40!). Please email Kathy Mahoney at hones@aol.com if you are interested.

January 10-12: Sugarbush ski trip!
That's right, I booked 10 slopeside condos for our annual ski trip to Sugarbush. Everyone has such a great time and the trip sells out fast, so book your spot now! $50 nonrefundable deposit required to hold your spot. Contact kathy at hones@aol.com for details.

***** Hey we're not just about booze and sports - although, there's nothing wrong with that...here are some events that inform and entertain at the same time. If you are looking for something different to do than the usual dinner and a movie or barhopping, try one of these events.

Every Friday night: Free Friday Night Stargazing at the Museum of Science! 8:30 to 10 p.m., weather permitting.
The Gilliland Observatory, located atop the Museum's garage roof, is open for free viewing on Friday evenings, first-come, first-served. Visitors are encouraged to attend the Friday 7 p.m. planetarium showing of "The Sky Tonight" as background for the viewing session. Call the Gilliland Observatory Hotline for viewing status and hours.
